Skyrobotic, a company leader in the production of drones under 25 kilograms entirely Made in Italy, part of the Italeaf Group, announces that the Board of Directors today appointed Giancarlo Grasso as the new Chairman of the Company.

Mr. Grasso takes the place of Stefano Neri, Chairman of the Italeaf Group and reference shareholder of the company, who has taken on the position of Vice Chairman.

Thanksgiving Giancarlo Grasso for agreeing to take on this important new responsibility, Stefano Neri stated:

Born as a startup just 4 years ago, after leaving the early stage phase, Skyrobotic now becomes a fully fledged aeronautical company destined to lead a new season of expansion and growth in the promising sector of top-of-the-range drones for institutional security and the most advanced professional uses. We believe it is necessary to carry out this new phase with a professionalism, such as that of Giancarlo Grasso, who represents a guarantee in terms of technical skills, managerial skills and knowledge of the reference sector. —————— BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES OF GIANCARCARLO GRASSO —————–

Giancarlo Grasso is one of the leading Italian experts in aeronautics and aerospace.

Born in Taranto, he graduated in electronic engineering in 1963. During his career he has held various positions in the Finmeccanica group of companies (now Leonardo), particularly in the defence electronics sector. Giancarlo Grasso, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Finmeccanica in the years since the group was re-launched, played a key role in coordinating the new investments in research and development decided by Finmeccanica to avoid the duplication of the past. In 1997 he became head of the avionics division of the then Alenia. Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alenia Marconi System (1999-2001), Otomelara (2001-2005) and Galileo Avionica (2001-2007), he moved to Finmeccanica in 2002, taking on the role of Central Technical Director and assuming, in 2007, the position of Senior Advisor to the Chairman and CEO, Pier Francesco Guarguagliani. From 2005 to 2007 he was CEO of Selex Sensors and Airborne Systems, while from 2009 to 2011 he was CEO of Selex Communications. From 2014 to 2016 he was Chairman of Alenia Aermacchi.
